I was always told by the people that live in Bogota that Medellin was the nicest city in Colombia but I considered it just too dangerous so I stayed in Bogota where it has always been safe.
Last year I was convinced that Medellin was now as safe as Bogota so I took a trip by auto to see for myself. |

I immediately fell in love with this beautiful city. Pablo Escribar - the drug kingpin who made Medellin such a dangerous place - has been dead for more than 10 years now and that fact together with the strong leadership in Colombia by Harvard educated President Uribe has turned this entire country into a paradise.
Having lived in Medellin for one year now I can truly say that Medellin is "the crown jewel " of Colombia and one of the finest cities in the world. Medellin is known as the city of eternal spring as temperatures range from a low of 60 to a high of 80 F. year around. The taxi drivers are all honest and respectful as are all of the inhabitants. It is so refreshing to be around these happy beautiful people they are like a breath of fresh air.

 | Another big plus is that the government here functions like it is supposed to. There are no pot holes in the streets and everywhere around the city you will find spacious beautiful public parks. There are free events in the parks on week-ends with musicians playing etc. The public transportation system here is a model for other cities around the world.
The metro runs from one side of the city to the other, and it is one of the best systems in the world. It is spotlessly clean (I have never seen any grafatti ) as the inhabitants are so proud of this system. The cost is nominal and trains run about every 7 minutes so no waiting. The metro cable will take you in a cable car up the side of the mountain at no extra cost and this scenery is awesome.

| Now for the best part. The women here have always been known for their beauty and I could not agree more. There are far more single women here than men and you will see them everywhere you go. They seldom have cars so they walk everywhere and they result is breathtaking as you seldom see body fat and most often see shapely, trim, beautiful bodies.
Some of these ladies have white skin, light hair and blue eyes but most have a light tan skin, long black silky hair and piercing dark eyes. When they speak to you they will look directly into your eyes and if you are like me you will melt like butter in the hot Florida sun.
In short these women are incredibly beautiful and they have never been spoiled as there is just too many beautiful ladies and far too few eligible men. They are very friendly with "foreign " men and they donīt care how old you are or what your net worth is. All you need to do is smile a lot and treat them with respect. |
